Local Non-planarity of Three Dimensional Surfaces for an Invertible Reconstruction: k-Cuspal Cells
نویسندگان
چکیده
This paper addresses the problem of the maximal recognition of hyperplanes for an invertible reconstruction of 3D discrete objects. kcuspal cells are introduced as a three dimensional extension of discrete cusps defined by R.Breton. With k-cuspal cells local non planarity on discrete surfaces can be identified in a very straightforward way.

Three-Dimensional Geostatistical Analysis of Rock Fracture Roughness and Its Degradation with Shearing
Three-dimensional surface geometry of rock discontinuities and its evolution with shearing are of great importance in understanding the deformability and hydro-mechanical behavior of rock masses. In the present research, surfaces of three natural rock fractures were digitized and studied before and after the direct shear test. The variography analysis of the surfaces indicated a strong non-line...
متن کاملOn the influence of vessel planarity on local hemodynamics at the human carotid bifurcation.
The human carotid artery bifurcation is a complex, three-dimensional structure exhibiting non-planarity and both in- and out-of-plane curvature. The aim of this study was to determine the relative importance of vessel planarity, a potential geometric risk factor for atherogenesis, in determining the local hemodynamics. A combination of computational fluid dynamics and magnetic resonance imaging...
متن کاملA 3D unsplit-advection volume tracking algorithm with planarity-preserving interface reconstruction
A new volume tracking method is introduced for tracking interfaces in three-dimensional (3D) geometries partitioned with orthogonal hexahedra. The method approximates interface geometries as piecewise planar, and advects volumes in a single unsplit step using fully multidimensional fluxes that have their definition based in backward-trajectory remapping. By using multidimensional unsplit advect...
متن کاملThree-dimensional calculations of the magnetic fields in a finite superconducting hollow cylinder in an applied axial magnetic field
In this study, a set of self-consistent coupled-integral equations for the local magnetic flux and current distributions in a finite superconducting hollow cylinder under an axial magnetic field has been directly derived by using the Biot-Savart law within the framework of the critical-state model. The equations were first solved numerically in the three-dimensional space before obtaining the h...
متن کاملThree-dimensional reconstruction of New Zealand rabbit antebrachium by multidetector computed tomography
The aim of this study was to reveal biometric peculiarities of New Zealand white rabbit antebrachium (radius and ulna) by means of three-dimensional (3D) reconstruction of multidetector computed tomography (MDCT) images. Under general anesthesia, the antebrachiums of a total of sixteen rabbits of both sexes were scanned with a general diagnostic MDCT. Biometric measurements of the reconstructed...
